Shire of Ravensthorpe has implemented a new online Campground Booking system to enable visitors wanting to stay from the 1st December 2022, to plan, book and pay for their campsite well in advance of arriving at their favourite campground. The booking system will replace the existing "first-in" practice that can be stressful for visitors travelling from afar, especially during peak periods only to find that campgrounds are full on arrival and then having to try and rearrange their holiday plans to work out where they can stay.
The new booking system won't be able to help with the stress of packing, or listening to your teenagers or travel companions choice of music during your long road trip but at least you have the security of knowing where you'll be staying when you finally reach your destination.
The booking system also provides the ability to select a specific campsite which will enable friends and family travelling together to choose sites (subject to availability), near each other or maybe even further apart if that's what you prefer.
Before you rush off and start booking your Christmas holidays to the Fitzgerald Biosphere Coast, the Shire is implementing the system in stages. At the moment they are only taking general bookings for dates outside of the summer school holiday period, with the exception of Hamersley Inlet Campground where there are no date restrictions. School holiday bookings will only be accepted from 9am Saturday, 26th November 2022.
Once the changeover is in effect (1 December 2023) it will be a requirement to have a valid booking to stay at any of the campgrounds. For anyone wanting to stay during November, the old first-in system and cash payment on arrival ($16 per night / per site) is still in place. To find out more visit our Book Campgrounds page.
